Really enjoyed this! I love the balance between erotic contents and the adventure ones. Characterisation is also great, I love the Gael interludes. The worldbuilding is also well-done and integrated seamlessly (no info dump).

Hey I just played whats available so far and I have to say that I think the writing/your story so far is really great.
Just one question though: What software/website didi you use to create the images, because normally i dislike this sort of game using ai-art but I think you used them pretty well.

Thanks! I use Stable Diffusion to generate the images and then do touch ups in GIMP to get rid of anything that looks weird.

I've noticed for some reason a lot of the images don't show up when I click on them. Is this because they're not there yet? or is something wrong on my end?

There aren’t any placeholders, everything is showing up on my end. Sorry, not sure what could be causing your issue. Are you seeing any of the images?

Some of them, yeah. I can click the link and the popup shows up and it's fine but some of 'em are not there. Like with the Effie scene... where she shows up in the hood the picture works, but anything after the that like the "Lacy black Lingerie" "On her back" etc nothing pops up.

Edit: So as it turns out, for some reason Itch.io is launching version .1.1 instead of version .3.0... even though I've updated. Not sure what's going on there, but if I go in and manually open .3.0 it loads but I don't have my saves so I'll figure it out from there I guess XD

hmm, interesting. V0.4.0 is going up on Monday, maybe that will fix it (or make it worse)

Seems like v0.3.0 installed in it's own folder. So it's in Itch>apps>Bride of a dead God>Bride of a dead God... where as v0.1.0 is in itch>apps>bride of a dead god... so it's finding that one first and launching it. I just deleted the stuff outside the second folder and now 0.3.0 is launching but I lost all my saves so can't be sure if the pictures are working yet or not.

Really enjoying this so far. Writing's good, the AI art is pretty good too. Excited to see how this develops!

Ayyo bro this is very good text base game! Im really invest in your game, keep going!

Overall a good start. The writing needs a little polish in some places, mostly an editing thing. No offense meant on that: you can't polish a turd, but you can definitely shine up a diamond in the rough. I hope you work in a bit more personality in the coming chapters, though, because it's pretty standard fantasy right now. Like, the concept of playing an illiterate character in a text-based game is an interesting take (also I personally just find it really funny).

The art is quite good too - AI-generated? Either way, it's well done (and seriously consistent if it's AI, so major props on that). Some go overboard with the art but all you really need is a couple here or there, and I think you've got a pretty good balance going.

Minor pet peeve, though: dialogue punctuation. That's most of what I meant by polish. Check out  https://www.authorlearningcenter.com/writing/fiction/w/character-development/649...

Possibly you are set on using some non-standard conventions, but... please don't. A little bit of #2, but mostly #4 on that list, though there are some odds and ends that could be fixed with other things (e.g. missing line-breaks). On that subject, in some places you have two line-breaks while in others you have one. As far as I can tell you've got a style going there for dialogue vs description, but in my opinion it's better to simply standardize across the board.

I bring up editing but in all honesty I am a grammar freak, so don't let it discourage you that you happened to be chanced upon by someone who obsesses over whether or not you've correctly used whom and that kind of shit. Honestly, I've seen way worse first (or hell, tenth) releases.

But I'm liking it so far, and I'm curious to see where you go with it.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated! I suspect I have picked up a weird mish-mash of different grammar styles thanks to going to both British and American schools growing up! I'll pick a style and make sure it's consistent :)

It’s definitely an option, going without a name is sort of an experiment. If it becomes distracting to the reader it shouldn’t be too hard to change. Thanks for the question!
